General Motors (GM) is an American multinational corporation with its headquarters based in Detroit, Michigan. It designs, manufactures, and distributes vehicles and their parts. Founded in 1908 by William Durant as a holding company, it is now one of the largest automobile manufacturers. It produces automobiles under four brands - GMC (Terrain, Acadia, Hummer EV, Denali series, AT4 line), Chevrolet (Trailblazer, Equinox, Bolt EV, Spark), Cadillac (Escalade, CT4/CT5, 2023 Cadillac Lyriq), and Buick (Encore, Envision). The company has announced its aim to end fossil-fuel vehicles’ sale by 2035 and achieve carbon-net zero by 2040.
